Company History

International Straightening, Inc. was formed in 1982 by it's President Dan Holt when Dan's father retired from the business.  Previously, Dan had worked with both his Grandfather and his Father for more than 18 years in the art of flame straightening.

In 1916 Grandfather, Joseph Holt, first began to develop the principals and processes of using heat to straighten bent and damaged steel.  His business continued to grow with the assistance of   Dan's  Father, Fred Holt, who has actively worked in the field for over 40 years.

Dan Holt has personally been involved in the rehabilitation and repair of hundreds of bridges, cranes, equipment, buildings and other steel structures.  The processes of using heat to straighten bent and damaged steel is both cost effective and time efficient.  Testing has shown that the flame straightened steel beams retain their strength and structural integrity when done properly. These have all been restored to erection tolerances, meeting all necessary specifications upon completion.

Over the years International Straightening, Inc. has saved many projects millions of dollars in penalties and cost overruns, straightening damaged beams and structures that would otherwise require removal and replacement or refabrication. In most cases, these structures can be used while repairs are being completed, thus saving traffic control costs and the necessity to dismantle or remove.

International Straightening, Inc. operates with the highest standards, developing the art of flame straightening to encompass a diverse, ever growing field. Not only has this method of repair proven cost effective, but is has been shown to be a safe and reliable repair method.
